The Glitch

Today must be one of the best days in my life. But just like any other days, September 12, 2009 had its minor glitch. This is what I'm talking about:

The Twilight Series

Okay, I do hate Twilight series. I think the story is nothing extraordinary so I think it is overrated. Frankly, I think it's the worst book I ever read (considering the reputation of the book). Sorry, Twilight Fans. Why did I read it? Because I saw the book being read and passed along by the literature-inclined-people in my high school. I was also intrigued by the teaser at the back cover. Why did I even finish it? Because everyone is talking about it and I want my comments in. Alright, slap me, punch me. I'll fight back, though.

The Twilight Cover.

I must admit. I love the covers from the series. The red and black motif. The apple. The feather. The ribbon. I don't know what the other one is. However, at the first few paragraphs of the first book, it is apparent that the story disappoints and does not fit the cover. At that point, I really stopped and thought, "Is this the right book?"

The New Wuthering Heights Cover

I wish Twilight never existed so I could appreciate the new cover. I just can't accept that "Wuthering Heights", a CLASSIC, falls under the shadow of Twilight, a... I decline to say what it is. Let us not forget that "Wuthering Heights" is THE classic and not Twilight. Not the other way around. I really hate it whenever I hear that some people are now reading "Wuthering Heights" just because because it was mentioned in Twilight. Not that I'm against the point that Twilight engages the young people to read classics since I love classics. I just find it insulting that the Twilight books have more influence compared to books like Wuthering Heights. Sorry again Twilight Fans. I would have reconsidered this if those who read Wuthering Heights for Twilight extended their reading to other Bronte Sisters' books or at least Jane Austen's. However... Most likely, they did not. I wish I were wrong!

Wow. What a way to describe the book. Is this a review? Hahahaha... FYI, this in the front cover.

OhF Dorm Experience

I never knew that THIS could happen to me.

Today, I woke up early, deciding to attend all of my classes. "Early" is defined (by me) to be around 0720 since my Math Class is at 0830. After finally getting out of my bed, I went to the shower room cum comfort room to take a bath. As usual, the shower stalls are full so I scouted for a stall with the "matatapos-na-potential".

Introducing the Sampa Shower System! As mentioned earlier, shower stalls are usually full around 0700 since most dormers have their first class at around 8. For convenience, there is a "pila system". You hang your towel at the door of the stall, and tada, you've reserved that stall. Others could also hang their towels there, but that means they can only use it after you. However, should you not be in the stall five minutes after the last user is done, the one next to you may already use the shower.

Back to the story. After hanging my towel at my prospect stall, I went to a cubicle and peed. Having done "my job", I opened the cubicle door of course and hit a girl. Accidentally, I swear! I said sorry to her though it's her fault (the door opens outwards and she's standing in front of the door) since she smiled and said sorry too and she looks like a good girl.

While waiting for my turn, I headed to the lavatory to brush my teeth and wash my face. After brushing my teeth, I saw that one has just finished so I checked if she came from the stall I reserved. Yes, she did. But OhF, there's another towel in the stall and somebody's already inside! (FYI, my towel was first and the time span couldn't have been 5 minutes since I was in front of the stall in less than a minute) Then dang, I saw her hang her "lower underwear" above her towel. But I was being extra patient so I waited just to make sure. Then she came out and went to the adjacent cubicle. The-Freaking-Girl-Hit-By-The-Cubicle-Door! Alright, let's call her TFGHBTCD from now on. Now, I'm being extra extra patient and waited to see what will happen next. She went out of the cubicle and went back to the shower stall and took off her clothes and finally hang them above her towel. ANG APOG!

WTF. I was seriously considering knocking on the stall and confronting her, but I checked myself and thought that that won't be a good thing for the morning. I just went back to the lavatory and Tammy probably saw the OhF look in my face so she asked me what happened. Then I told her,

"Kasi pumila ako... Tapos may ibang gumamit."

That goes to you, TFGHBTCD!

Great thing there's another free stall that time. Seems like life's not that unfair at all.

One of the things I hate is that she looks like a good girl compared to me. Just like the other girl who got to ride the Toki jeep while I didn't, when I was in the waiting place before she was.

Walang nangyari. Ni hindi ko nasimulan ang pinaplano kong pagpapaka GC. Siguro, dahil sa di naman talaga natural sa'kin ang mag-aral ng walang pilitan. Minsan, nag-aaral naman ako. Minsan. Kapag nasa mood. At moody talaga ako. At kadalasan, wala ako sa mood. Marami pa rin naman akong natutunan. Tulad ng si Jesus ay maaaring produkto ng parthenogenesis. At maaaring nauna si Eba kay Adan. Natutunan ko din na may silbi naman pala ang derivatives at anti-derivatives. Kung hindi man sa pagbili ng fishball at kikiam. At marami pa... Sa loob ng classroom. Merong masarap na pizza place sa Teacher's Village. Dapat palang magbigay ng tip. For the first time, kumain ako ng meal na may tip. Hahaha.

Nakilala ko ang Sisig! Akala ko dati, Bopis = Sisig. Buti na lang, di na ko nabubuhay sa kasinungalingan! Da best yung sisig ng Sisig Hooray. Masarap din pero parang hindi tunay na sisig yung Ersao sa SC. Yung sa Katag, hindi masarap.

Pwede palang iulam ang siomai at kalamares sa kanin. Yung siomai pala, napiprito din. Pati siopao! At masarap ang siomai at kalamares kina Manong Nestorminator... After 5 minutes, libre na ang kinain mo. Try nyo! Pati na rin yung pancit canton kina Aling Jellybabes. At higit sa lahat, masarap silang i-FC. :D

Maraming pwedeng maging epekto ang isaw ni Mang Larry. Magandang epekto. Hehehe... Mas masarap pala ang isaw baboy kesa isaw manok. Sayang at wala silang dugo, atay at paa.

Ang ibig sabihin ng PAKAPLOG ay Pandesal, Kape at Itlog. Sample:

Okay lang palang matulala paminsan-minsan sa date. O baka dahil abnormal lang din yung date ko? At hayun. Natuto nga akong magdate. At okay rin naman pala yun. Hindi naman pala ganun kasama ang Valentine's Day.

Kahit hindi ako marunong magbike, masayang magbike-bikean sa QC Memorial Circle (?). At kung ayaw mong tumanggap ng flowers, masasabuyan ka ng pinira-pirasong dahon. Apiiir!

Marunong na 'ko magvideogame! Tekken! Marunong na rin ako *matapos ang ilang pag-uulit* ng Star Trek na video game sa SM North. Sa wakas! Marunong na rin akong mag-Counter Strike, Left4Dead at Dota. Yung Counter Strike at Left4Dead, napanaginipan ko na. Dota na lang ang hindi pa. Nakakaadik mang-headshot.

Hindi lang pala ako bad girl. Baaaadgirl din ako. Ngayon ko lang din narealize na girl pala ako.

May ganun pa rin pala. Pwede pa rin pala. Kaya ko pala. All in all, sapsap pala!

Hectic Lab day. Hmm... But that's okay. I love Ma'am Bucsit. And I got my last set of stipends for this sem! Yay! Finally! I sooo need MONEY!

The Flowers Issue

Is it a crime?! Goodness, this question has been bugging me for days, now. Well, I have actually gotten over it. I just want to blog about it. Here's the thing. What's wrong with not having ever received roses or flowers? Does that make one abnormal or a freak? Okay, I am a freak and I am abnormal but I'm pretty sure that this has nothing to do with the flowers thingy.

It was only last month, February (right, the eekish "love month", ugh) that I realized that I have not received roses or flowers. Well, technically, I already received one (a daisy, to be exact) when I was in elementary. Sixth grade, I guess. There was a presentation for the teachers and daisies were used to decorate an area. A classmate (at least, he's a "he") got one and kept playing with it while we were talking to our other classmates. It was dismissal and when he's about to leave, he gave (or left) me the daisy because he does not want to be holding it while walking on the streets. So I just held it and played with it. When our "service" came to fetch us, I just left the poor daisy on the table. Now that I remember, it was Valentine's Day at least. Wait, let me clarify some things. There's nothing "romantic" about him giving me the daisy. He was courting another girl and I have a crush (wee! I had a crush!) on another boy. Friends, okay? Right. Now, it's clear that I have not received a flower INTENDED FOR ME.

So, what? Am I THAT "unpalatable"? Haha. Food! Having given the flower dilemma more thought than it deserves, I have already worked out several hypotheses on why I have not received any.

1. I seem to lose "crushers" between December and February, the ultimate flower-giving-period. Nice timing, huh? Haha....

2. Some Most of them ("crushers" in our place) find me intimidating. Intimidating because of my academic standing, fame (oookay??? in our place) and my being snobbish (I admit) to guys (I'm not a snob when it comes to girls! I love girls!) who have not been PROPERLY introduced. I don't talk to strangers. :)

3. I've made it clear to some people I know that I am not the Flowers-type. Chocolates are okay because I can put them inside my bag or just eat them. Flowers spell HASSLE. Plus, it's an attention grabber in the crowd. I hate it. And I am not into those traditional stuff during V-day. Generally, I want something creative and out of the norms. Unfortunately, only two have been quite creative.

4. I am one of the notorious Valentine's-Day-Haters. Add to this the point the I just hate love matters for myself. Period.

5. Some Most "crushers" were unfaithful, in-a-relationship/coward-rejection-fearing men who live in the same barangay with me and their girlfriends. Good thing I only liked one of them.

6. Nobody liked me ENOUGH. Damn, I always knew that I hate the number six.

Whew! I never thought I could finish this! So what led me to think about it? Hmmm... I think it started last February 14. Elmerei, co-Kalai resident, was holding four roses to give his friends. Then I realized that I haven't even received flowers ever. I was even laughing at the idea when I told him. And he was shocked! He looked at me like I was the poorest creature there ever was and told me, "Kawawa ka naman..." This made the back of my mind freak out! I mean, what the hell?! Me?! Kawawa?! What's so "kawawa" there? *uy, conyo!* Are you required to receive at least one flower before you were seventeen? Is there something like a "quota"? Does this mean there is something utterly wrong with me? And it doesn't help that my motehr asked me whether I received anything last Valentine's Day. She always asks! Of course, I said no. And she's disappointed. Come on! She should be rejoicing! Or at least, relieved! But no. I could see that she was thinking whether something is wrong with her daughter. Poor mother. I am her only daughter. She can't expect girls to give my brothers flowers or anything. Hahahaha!

I guess I'll just go and buy myself a rose. I love me, anyway. Right, I'll just go and buy myself a rose just to shush everyone up and be somehow normal. :)
